  ORIGINAL CORBEL TERMINALS

Demi figures of angels clothed in white with wings displayed, each issuing from a cloud and holding a shield, coloured. These are a series of ten wooden terminals from the hammer beam corbels of the original 17th century Bedford Chapel before rebuilding, now fixed to the West wall on either side of the monument to the 5th Earl/1st Duke (M7), in two rows of five each. According to 'Chenies Church and Monuments', these were fixed, prior to 1901, one on each side of the square sunk panel (P3) and the remaining eight, four on each side of the great window in the East wall (P8)
