Gallery compiled, at the request of Hastings, 9th Duke, exhaustive
descriptions of the Russell monuments in the Chapel at Chenies, Westminster
Abbey, Thornhaugh, Swyre and Watford.

Adeline Marie, wife of George, 10th Duke, completed this book as a composite
arrangement of two books already-in existence:
Scharf, as above and "Biographical Catalogue of the Pictures at Woburn
Abbey", compiled between 1869 and 1892 by Lady Elizabeth Russell and Adeline
Marie Bedford, together with a considerable amount of new matter in
addition. The book contains descriptions of the stained glass windows and
the monument to Lord Arthur Russell, written by the respective designers,
Mr. C.E.Kempe and Mr. Gilbert, R.A.
